أصرت المخرجة على إعادة مشهد واحد لأكثر من مرة : هو الرعب الذي ينتابها خوفا على سما عند سماع صوت قدوم الطائرة الروسية يوميًا. وتضع المخرجة المشاهد أمام تعودهم الغير طبيعي على سماع صوت التفجيرات والقصف وتعاملهم اليومي مع هذه الأحداث التي تشكل في تسلسلها وقسوتها المهولة أمتن خيوط الفيلم. إن القسوة الموجودة في هذا الفيلم تمكاننا من شرح العديد من الحكايات المنفصلة في الفيلم: واقع المدينة ومن خلاله واقع الناس الذين أصبحوا يتعايشون مع الخراب.
